In Mouraria, we find Amouraria-Lagares. It is one of the most traditional and antique neighborhoods in Lisbon, owing its name to a 12th-century royal decree by D. Afonso Henriques, confining the Moor to this area after the Conquest of Lisbon.
Being storytellers, we feel almost as if we have arrived at the final chapter, but the truth is we could still make a story for this building. We can easily find the passage of time in the façade tiling, the entry hall roofs, the stonework that evolves the windows or in the many views to St. George’s Castle.
But we can also find modernity in the chosen materials, the urban design which clarifies the construction and in the light that invades the interiors of this Amouraria.
